Thomas Eimmerman Pre-Law Advisement Center

About the Center

The Pre-Law Advisement Center was formed in fall 2003 by Dr. Robert Bradley, professor of Politics & Government, to provide Illinois State students interested in attending law school with a central location to access information relating to legal education.

Services Offered by the Center Include:

  • Law School Information – The Center has viewbooks, CD-ROMS, and videos from virtually every law school across the nation available for Illinois State students to browse and aid in selecting the right law school for the individual.
  • LSAT Preparation – The Center contains a vast number of LSAT test prep aides, including practice tests in book form and video tapes. Additionally, information is available on Illinois State's LSAT Prep Course that is offered over the course of four Saturday's each fall and spring semester.
  • Advisement – Both faculty and student advisors are available to assist students in selecting undergraduate courses to take in preparation for law school, selecting law schools to apply to, writing personal essays, and finding the best law school for their individual needs.
  • Application Assistance – Filling out law school applications is sometimes difficult, but the staff at the Center can assist students in choosing which achievements to highlight, how to apply online, and knowing when a student's LSDAS file is complete.
  • Financial Aid – Law school can be expensive. The staff at the Center can assist accepted law students (or potential students) in finding scholarships, loan packages, and can provide general education on how to finance a legal education.
  • Web site – This Web site contains information on all of the above topics as well as external links to other Web sites that provide more in-depth assistance on specific areas. Become familiar with this Web site and use it along with the resources physically located in the Center to help you best prepare for a legal education.
